The operator decides whether the gate is an asset or a liability
An operator is not a motor you bolt on at the end. It is the component that has to move a heavy leaf thousands of times a year, stop when something is in the way, and behave predictably when the power fails.
We specify, install, and service operators for estates, HOAs, and commercial sites — including systems we did not build. Most of the failures we are called out to are undersized units doing a job they were never rated for.

Four things we size before we quote
Get these wrong and the gate still opens on handover day. It just will not be opening in eighteen months.
Duty cycle
Cycles per day, not cycles per brochure. A shared driveway or an HOA entry is a commercial duty application even when the address is residential.
Leaf mass and wind load
Weight, length, and how much sail area the infill presents. Solid-clad gates in a canyon wind corridor need considerably more than the leaf weight suggests.
Entrapment protection
Two independent means of protection per UL 325, matched to the operator and tested against a person — photo-eyes, safety edges, and inherent reversing.
Power loss behaviour
Battery backup, manual release, and fire department access. Whether the gate holds or opens on an outage is a decision we make with you, not a default we inherit.

Operators are mechanical. They need attention.

Scheduled service, all brands
Hinges, bearings, chain or rack tension, limits, and safety device alignment. We service operators we did not install, including discontinued units.

Retrofit before replacement
Often the operator is fine and the post, hinge, or control board is the actual fault. We will tell you when a repair is the honest answer.

Emergency repair, 24/7
A gate stuck open is an unsecured perimeter and a gate stuck closed is an access problem for emergency services. Both are urgent.
